Can anyone provide advice on purchasing a Boomer TC21D vs a Kubota B2100? I plan on using a loader, box grader, post hole digger, etc. to landscape/maintain 5 acres and would appreciate any feedback concerning the abilities/disabilities of either model.

Chris, If it was my money I would go Kubota. I own neither of the two---JD 870. But Kubota has legendary reliability, dealer support-network etc. Kubota really builds solid, user friendly, good tractors-- PERIOD. ....

My thoughts exactly, Only I'd head for either a B2400 or 2710. They are more money, but I think you'll be glad you did a year from now. And they are basically the same platform size. OMO. ....

Cris - I own a B1700 4wd, hst, which except for piston bore is identical to the 2100. I have been completely satisfied with it, and would buy the same tractor again if , for example, this one was stolen. I have never driven a high horsepower tractor ( by high I mean 24 or 27 ), so I can not comment on how much better it would be, but I almost always lose traction before I run out of power, so for my needs I see few situations where more power would help. Even with the front loader, a full bucket is a full bucket, whether it is lifted by 17 horsepower or 24, and mine will lift a full bucket of wet clay all day long so unless you had a larger bucket I don't see how you could want for more horsepower. ....

Chris,For my money, I went with the Boomer. I bought a TC18 back in June and have never looked back. This tractor has outperformed everything that I thought it would be able to do. If you want one figure to look at for the integrity/strength of the unit, look at 3 pt. lift weight at 24". My TC18 is rated at a higher weight than even the B2400. I don't have my brochures with me here at work, but I believe the hydraulic fluid flow is also better on the TC's.I just plain got more bang for the buck with the TC 18, mine was less expensive than the B1700 and even the B7300 here in southcentral lower Michigan. Go Boomer like so many have and you won't go wrong! ....

With the product line that the compact dealers offer,it does make for a tough decision.I own and would recommend Kubota,but look at your dealers reputation and try to take all things into consideration,not just the bottom line.These two units look so much alike,it might come down to which color you like best. ....
